Funny, I tried that because I kept rotting them and still rotted them. How much light? I had them in a north window.I’ve had good luck with the Atlanta Botanical Garden mix in clay for the few that I grow. ABG mix.
It holds water well. And I haven’t been able to overwater, and forgetting to water for a few days hasn’t seemed to matter.
Of course ymmv.

What an absolute achievement, Eric! I have now straggled through a year with flaskings of D. uniflora from Wally Orchard and know you have worked hard to get here.Update:
I guess I can grow disas. Luckily, they came potted in a Sphagnum, perlite, etc, mix, so I couldn't screw that up. In a tray, with leca under the pots, watered from bottom only.
