The year 2024 starts with Paph philippinense var. compactum f. aureoviride which is flowering for the second time in my collection. First time was in January 2022.
The size of all parts of this variety is smaller compared with a normals P. philippinense.

Paph. kolopakingii
I obtained two plants of this species from Hilmar in an eBay auction in November 2009. They were young plants and the leafspan was about 15 cm. One plant died after 4 or 5 years and this one suvived. I was really surprised when I saw a flower sheath emerging in late summer because I thought the plant wouldn't be big enough to flower. When I left home for my journey on November 11th ... the flower spike war about to emerge from the sheath ... when I came back last Tuesday I saw these 3 beautiful flowers though nobody took care for the plant for 4 weeks ... just sitting in an central heated room.

Lovely. 15 years to flower. Great patience. Hopefully you have done all the hard work and it flowers regularly from now on. Is it a big plant?

Your plants are wonderful. Knowing that you achieve these results as a windowsill grower is quite inspiring. Moreover, your photos are spectacular. I am so impressed with how the flowers still stand out with the white background.
