Just a quick one to introduce myself. I’ve raised many kinds of plants all my life and of course orchids had a place all along. Generally warm growers, often minis (just because I can fit more of them on a shelf) and natives in my garden outside in New England.
I currently have a seed pod growing on a mini Rhyncattleanthe hybrid now which is X Encyclia tampensis so the babies should be interesting!
Please forgive dumb Qs as I get up to speed on the latest art…my knowledge goes back very far but is probably way out of date now.

Welcome! There are no dumb questions. Okay, that's not entirely true, but I'm sure yours won't be all that dumb.

I agree with Linus. If your E. tampensis hybrid works out, please reach out and let me know. Sounds right down my alley. I'm currently downsizing my orchid collection, but that's focused almost entirely on the "indoor" plants. On the flip side, I'm still keeping an eye open for orchids that can happily grow in my greenhouse, which I keep just above freezing in the winter. I already have a couple clones of E. tampensis and at least one or two tampensis hybrids, they're really great orchids and they're fine with cold winters.
