We also have to keep in mind that bark needs about 30-50ppm N/week (from memory) just to feed the microbes braking down the bark. That is before the plant even sees much. I would suggest that 80-100ppm/week when in full growth is better. (in bark) If you are worried about salinity, you should use a formulation with higher N so the EC remains the same.For me 100 ppm N Akerne /MSU per week is to hight . Check your conductivity of your solution and you will be surprised.
Akerne recommand 65 ppm N per week and this is already to hight for this paphiopedilum family. 40 to 50 ppm N per week is enought. They are slow grower !.
In other media with a different nitrogen draw-down the opposite might be true. Eg. In osmunda, no N is needed at all! In hydroponics there is zero N draw-down. It all depends....
