There is Boyce Thompson State Park in Arizona. The name lives on.

I love the palm tree growing through the ceiling. The rose trapped behind the dirty glass is too sad. "Love makes all things grow" might be true, but neglect seems to work fine as well.

I would love to visit and 'return' some of them to their former glory. The Sanders and Low era of orchid houses must have bee a sight to behold.

Some of those were luxurious in their day. They remind me of old houses I see here dotting the landscape - overgrown with vines, bamboo growing up through the tatami, epiphytic ferns festooning the eves… it makes me sad when they rip them down and put up yet another 7-11.
