I tried cutting off the sheath one year to prevent it from blooming to see if it would put out more growth but it did the same thing

I use granular humic acid and my plants put out several growths (2-3 on 1 growth first flowering paphs). More for more multiple growths plants (non paph )like 5-7 growths.
