I pulled off that deformed flower before I entered it in our Autumn show this weekend and it picked up Reserve Champion of the Show. It was beaten by my dianthum which also picked up Champion Specimen. So it was a clean sweep by Paphs, which is how it should be. :)

Wonderful! That's a very impressive plant. I bet it killed you to remove that deformed flower, reducing the total flower count; but, I believe that you made the right decision. Leaving it there would be a big distraction and something tangible for the judges to fixate on....negatively. The other 5 flowers are awesome! Congratulations on doing such a good job!

Very nice and I love the veining as well.

How big is the plant, I can see the growths but I can't judge the leafespand from the picture. The plants looks very compact.

It sure did John. Even deformed it still added to the show. It was a huge flower too. I wasn't sure what I was going to do right to the last minute. I'm glad I did now.

SUPER SWEET!!!!! Congrats on both trophies. Did you get the HCC/AOC during the show as well or had the plant already been awarded??? Those flowers are intense for veins!!
Did the dianthum get a flower award?
