First bloom for this Harold Koopowitz (rothschildianum ‘Bloomington’ x malipoense ‘Sam’s Choice’FCC/AOS. Bloom is still unfurling.

It looks more like malipoense than some of the other HKs I’ve seen posted here.

I have another from Paph Paradise which is a little further behind in blooming. Curious to see how different they look.

Really nice, especially for a first bloom plant! I don't like the hook in the lip that often comes with this type of breeding, but it's minimal. And with color as nice as this, it's easy to overlook. Are you planning to let both buds develop? On a first bloom seedling, I'd probably be tempted to clip the other this round.

Definitely looking forward to seeing the other one when it opens up!

Thanks for suggesting that I remove the second bud. I frankly hadn’t thought to remove it given the size of the plant. Do you typically remove buds from all first bloom seedlings?
