Well worth the second chance...wish i had room for one of these!!
It had a leaf span of 1,4m prior to its near demise. Now it has flowered on a 800mm span. (It shrank to a single growth that looked more like a seedling, with a leaf span of 15cm)It's excellent !!!! Good job !!!! How bigs the leafspan? How many growths?
It has 3 new starts, so hopefully will continue to grow after this flowering. I am aiming to get it back to its original size of 4 growths each Of over 1,2 m and the largest of just over 1,4m. I aim to fertilize one of the blooms to try and hold onto the current growth while the others mature (I did the same for my haynaldianum album, which flowered on a mature growth each season, broke a single new growth, and never clumped. Last season I let it carry a single pod in the hope that it would hold onto the current mature growth. It now has 3 new growths, so perhaps the same treatment next season will force it to clump?)I don't know Gary, looks pretty bad. I think you need to send it to TX to recoop. Right along the side of my other kolos topperis.
Does it aleast have another start coming up? I had a really large, single growth bloom out only to turn its roots up and die on me. Thinking back, I should of cut the spike after I saw the flowers and repot. It probably would be alive today if I had only done that.
