Mystic Jewel is a Maudiae (Barbata) type. Kay Rinaman is a super nice green & white complex and a great breeder. This type of breeding (bulldog x maudiae) can turn out pretty nifty as we see here.

It is a large flower. 5 inches tall x 4 wide. Plant has a 12 inch leaf span...not too big.

Very nice flowers, Gilda! Your plants are always well grown. As long as we are looking at maudiae x complex crosses, here's one owned by a friend that I photographed a few years back.

I don't know who originated the cross for sure, but my friend purchased it from Wharton Sinkler's collection at Castle Rock orchids quite a few years ago. What remained of the collection perished in a fire two or three years ago. Given that Honeycomb Creek is in the parentage, and Mr. Sinkler was the owner of one of the best Honeycomb Creek cultivars, there's a good chance that he originated the cross.
