Paph philippinense

After purchasing the Paph philippinense from Orchid Inn in February, it quickly grew a spike and by April the first of four flowers started to open up. Over the past month as the flowers matured, the petals started to twist . The first three flowers opened nicely, but as the tip got heavier I decided to snip the third flower, perhaps giving the last one a chance to further develop. The cut flower was not wasted but preserved dried using activa silica gel.

Lovely flowers. With this long twisted petals and the lack of green markings in the staminode might this be var. roebellenii ?

It‘s a Paph. philippinense x sib ('Super Twister' x 'Alford' AM/AOS). I read somewhere in this forum that higher humidity helps with twisting so I had this very close to a reptile fogger while in spike, about 8-12 inches away. The last bloom is starting to open up now

Congratulations - Very nice color as well. Looks like the plant is compact too, what is the leafspread?

Thanks! The longest leaf is 8inches. The plant width is 12inches. If I had staked it vertically, the overall height would have been 24inches tall.
