The haynaldianum received an 83 point AM today and was named 'Karen Resh' in honor of my fiancée Shannon's grandmother.

It's an all day commitment to go to judging so I only do it if I'm confident I have an AM or better quality plant to enter. So far it has worked out other than the hung jury incident last year lol.

Congrats! Curious does the dorsal on yours reflex like most haynaldianums? In my mind this is the only (slightly) undesirable trait of the species.

It does reflex but only about halfway up, sort of like a spicerianum. That was one of the traits the judges liked, many of the prior awards were fully reflexed.

It's a bit on the small side at 15.5cm NS but with six flowers I'll take it.

I'll try to count them when I get a chance, it's filling a 6"square pot.

15.5 is respectable. Spread on these has more to do with petal stance than actual size.
