Msu for well water. However I think all those symptom are because I grew it in considerably more light in the last year than I normally do

I don't think so... I tried the MSU and I am not a big fan, especially for multiflorals, I got short stems and yellowish leaves. I am back to the old 20 years ago schedule of 10-52-10 , 20-20-20, magnesium sulfate and sometimes calcium nitrate, and the plants are now great. I have definitely more light than you here in Vietnam :D

FWIW...I too used to use MSU but went back to 7-11-27. The multiflorals responded well to MSU at first but over time they seemed to deteriorate health wise. It might work for some but in my experience it didn't.
