The first seedling to flower from a flask I got from John Robertson. Hopefully the minor faults will be gone next flowering.

Nice! I'm more of a species guy, but I wouldn't kick that one out of my collection. Thanks for sharing it with us.

What the hey David? For the life of me I can't figure out how you get light bulbs inside your flowers! Your PICs display your plants a "floor lamps" with the flower "light" turned on! I swear you could make an ugly duck look like a beautiful swan with your photography!

Thanks Rick. It is amazing what you can fit in those pouches. :)

Here are another two seedlings from this cross. Some pretty bad deformities but the first one has some potential. It is amazing the variety you get. All three look completely different.

Looking at the results, I would say this cross has good potential. How many more do you have that are inflow erred? I would be inclined to hunt down additional unflowered plants as it may need a bunch to be flowered out to get what you are looking for, .... One that is superb. I believe this cross will generate a few of those!

In the rush to reach blooming size a plant like this will often sacrifice quality for quantity...even if that quantity is just 1. When it's multigrowth with 1/3 of the growths in bloom, the wonkiness will likely resolve (more roots feedling/supporting relatively fewer flowers). Great flowers otherwise....lots of potential there!

emydura, would you mind elaborating on the "minor faults" of the first
posted bloom? I'm rather a newbie at evaluating Paphs. and I enjoy
learning more about how to evaluate a specific flower.

I have another 4 or 5 to flower. I lost a few a long the way.

The dorsal in the first one, as occurred in the current two, never opened up properly. Although it is hard to tell from the photo. The petals aren't held flat and curl at the tips. The dorsal twists a bit as well. Actually the first one is much better than the last two which had really bad deformities in the pouch and a dorsal that never straitened. On bigger stronger plants hopefully these issues disappear.
