I had bought two plants of that "variety", the first turned out to be gratrixianum var. daoense (posted elsewhere here), the second opened this weekend and looks pretty much like yours. I wasn't sure what was meant by that variety until you posted your pic, but if the majority of plants open as true villosum I'll be happy to stick the laichauense-label to that plant.

Someone suggested earlier on that "var. laichauense" would look like var. boxallii. I'd love to see a picture of that flower, too:
