quick photos...
The wardii is a dark variety.
The helenae has been open for a few weeks now--The flower was pale yellow at first, then it changed to golden yellow after 10 days. This particular clone sometimes may not have the white edge on the dorsal, and what caused that? I have no clue.

Beautiful! Any idea what affects color saturation? I'm on the hunt for a helenae but I want a bright one that isn't wonky, like yours.
@color, it is nothing special culture-wise, so most likely it's inherited the color from the parents...
Plant came from Rob(Littlefrog)a few years ago, check with him and see if he still has some.

Here is a photo of 2022 blooming, as you can see it didn't have the white edge.

helenae 'Pale Face' x 'Mini Mouse'? Something like that. If it still has the Orchid Inn flask number on the tag I could look it up.

They don't grow well for me... I don't think I've ever bloomed one - but I got several flasks (two different crosses) from Sam for cheap a fair number of years ago. If I have any left they are really small.

Rob, your tag says, "Flat Top" X Yellow Bird"

Open and fresh mix is the key...I've found this species really hates stale mix. Repotting yearly or every two years(if the mix is still good)

Welp, let me know if you have even a small one around still!
