It’s a perspective thing. The pouch stays same while dorsal sepal and petals expand much more. Like the paws of a puppy lol.Wonderful... wonderful and stunning!
Is the slipper really that fat relative to the other parts of the flower? Or is this to some extent due to optic/photographic illusion?
The flower will expand usually. This flower is not typical of the cultivar at this time. Let’s see what happens in a few days.Leslie, a flowering Paph. charlesworthii fma. sandowiae is always a great sight. Not sure about the 'stubby flower'.....this may be result of selection and some line breeding or just a trait by genes ? I do prefer the less 'bulldog' types....but like always.....beauty is in the ey of the beholder.
