A very faithful summer flowering species: Phalaenopsis equestris aurea. Just 3 cm across, no scent. Usually a part of the buds blast (there are enough though) but this year this did not happen - still.

Thank you all!
Yes, this clone of aurea has a very solid 'golden' lip, and I would like to pollinate with Phal. maculata f. flava and try the remake of Phal. Little Sister.
Maculatas are scarce, so if anyone has a yellow/orange form of maculata in flower right now, I'd love to swap pollen.

Sorry, have been a bit lazy lately uploading photographs. Now three spikes flowering:

Not one bud blasted ... for the first time. I wonder if it is due to adding urea-N to the water I use for watering this summer. It's the only thing (I'm aware of) that I've changed compared to the last years.

Thank you all. The basket is filled with part bark and part volcanic lapilli, so it is pretty free draining. A piece of palm 'fabric' (Livistona chinensis) covers the inside of the basket and prevents the little parts from dropping. You can see the 'making of' the vertical baskets here.
