Hi All,

The latest AM/AOS award to this grex was granted at the Michigan Orchid Society Palm Sunday show in Madison Heights a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, it's my first attempt to upload an iPhone photo, so it's not the best quality.

While it will be a 12-18 months before we have seedlings of a Phrag. Fox Valley Fireball remake, I did receive a positive note from the lab yesterday that we'll soon receive six replate flasks of a cross that I believe may be as good. It is Phrag. (Machelle Hershey 'FV' x Rosalie Dixler 'FV' AM/AOS).

Thanks,

Hi John,

Unfortunately , the flower fell off before I could get back to the greenhouse to get a decent photo. I've asked the Great Lakes Judging Center for permission to post the awards photo to slippertalk though, so maybe there's still a chance. We also had a really nice Phrag. pearcei awarded at that show and I'll try to get that photo as well.

Thanks,

18 months + at least 3 yrs till bloomers = time for nursing home waiting list - sign me up for a flask !!!!!

I checked out the link. Amazing that Lynn O'Shaunnesy was the photog!! I would love to go to a big show at that center/area!!
Lynn used to be the photographer for the Center, and she still sometimes does the photos for the awards.

The Center is in Ann Arbor -- they just had a show two weekends ago. The space there is fairly limited, so it's a fairly small show. The biggest shows in Michigan are the MOS (Michigan OS) show near Detroit, and the Grand Valley OS show in Grand Rapids. The Greater Lansing OS (mine) is 3rd largest. They are all good shows and worth going to.
