:clap:WELCOME! Glad you joined us! That's the way to do it for a wanted plant. Did you have to remind me that I'd like one of those too?!
We'd love to know more about you! Go to the bottom right hand corner of this page, click the gray arrow, click Greetings & Salutations near the top, start a new thread & let's get a proper welcome going!

Hello Everyone,
My appologies for a slow response, Im on 12 hour shifts here in PA, so it may be slow going for a few days, I dont have much for trade for now, a few phals and some nepenthes. I just started growing phrags a few months ago after going to a local show and getting some nice encouragement from the vendors there. I always stuck to phals but some are getting bigger than I hoped, the smaller size of besseae is appealing to me. So far I accumulated a few of them, mostly besseae's and a hybrid or two but would like to nab a hanne popow flavum. I searched everywhere and it seems there are all sold out or they just have the regular hanne popow.

Gota run for now

Hanne Popow flavum is proving to be very difficult for me. :( Mine aren't in the best of shape. Try OL or Dean Paphiness who goes to OZ every few months, if he thinks he can find a couple have him get two on my account and we'll split them.

Oh Poo! , having trouble with the hanne popow? May I ask what the trouble is? Perhaps its one I should avoid? Although , Im experiencing good things with the ones I have so far, at least for root developement...I like to look at it like this...if its got good roots it will grow, please correct me if Im wrong. Anyway no luck at Orchids Limited, I emailed the other fellow so I have my fingers crossed. I was told they were trying to redo it at OL and maybe next year. Thanks for the tip NYEric

What do you have so far?
Sometimes the flavums don't have the vigor of the regular color ones, you might try one of those first. Hanne Popow does well for me, but I can't keep a bess, let alone a bess.flavum alive to save my soul! Go figure!

So far I have two blomming besseae,a compot of besseae, one besseae flavum, and one peruflora cirila alca. The cirila alca had virtually no roots when I got it, it was in LFS and they were mostly mush, so I potted that one in leca S/H , it is now starting to grow new roots so hopefully it will be OK. Im getting mixed veiw points on semi hydro so I thought Id try it.

Welcome to the forum Grasshopper! You'll enjoy it here, we're all a wonderful bunch of enablers to our, and each others, orchid addiction! Welcome!!!
