Hi folks!

Here are 2 pics of a FB friend’s plant. He got it as an Andean Fire, but I can’t see evidence of influence of lindleyanum in it …at least as a primary hybrid, since Andean Fire is lindleyanum x besseae. What do you think?

I have seen pictures much like this identified as Andean Fire. I can understand perhaps questioning it as a primary hybrid of lindleyanum, but something like this in an F2 Andean Fire x Andean Fire wouldn't surprise me. But red Phrags all look alike to me, so I'm not the best judge.

Maybe it is Inca Fire and someone just mixed up the fires.

Just wanted to say that this flower is gorgeous and the plant is very well grown. Congrats to the owner!

It's not a straight Andean Fire. Maybe, as Kirk said it could be an F2 AF x AF. Let me do some research.

It is nice. The breeding has straightened and flattened the petals and dorsal. Nice.

Whatever the name, the color and form are lovely. It
has a rose tone on my monitor.

If it is a straight Andean Fire the lateral sepals are really good because they are normally spaculate.

that's what I think too. But I love the idea of AF x AF

it seems to have the bottom half of the petals in lighter color and the slight wrinkly zipper effect around the pouch which remind me of schlimii in the blood line , may be one of the parent is Hanne Popow .
But Paphmadman may be correct , I see a lot of pictures on the internet similar to this also id as Andean fire , so may be it is correct .
