Hi

So ive had this plan for a long time first time I've ever gotten this species to bloom. this plant is really scruffy and looked like it was on Deaths door, so I got a replacemeant from the same nursery to replace it.

Its rather a pale pearcii I personally not seen one so pale before. As you can see in the last pic the back one is the new plant.

It looks nice!! I grow mine very warm 85 days 65 - 63 night and very very bright, they grow branch and bloom consecutively 365 days a year

I hope you can save and grow this plant! The flower is special. I'd be some hybridizer would love it in trying to breed for a long petaled white Phrag.

Thanks for all the info.

SlipperFan, I do have a small division that is growing very well at the mo.

It is very nice!
Looks like salts build-up problems to me…
That species is very sensitive to that…
RO or rain water is the best with scarce fertilisation.
If I was you I’ll repot it …

I'm going to repot it tomorrow, the other peice I took off if has done really well in that same water as this one everything went down hill with a bark top dress. I brought another plant aprently from the same plantthis one came off.

I have always struggle with this one either never able to flower it or it dosent grow for me.

Interesting? Yes try to repot it in new media it can help!
Do you grow them semi-hydro feet always in water? Pearcei love that!
I aware a line of salt build-up on the side of the pot seems less on the new one???
About your water, do you know the pH and ppm ?

We have hard water here lots of lime scale here up I do keep, them all sitting in enough rain water just to cover the openings. It's prob an ok pot theyget streilized with bleach just never seem to get away from lime scale.

I don't know what the rain water would be ph wise.

Heres the division I took last year off the plant and it's had the exact same treatmeant as the other one, its in an old plant that use to be up turned in a gravel that the orchids use to sit on.

That one is looking nice and fine; I like the live moss dressing too it is usually a good sign! If the old plant sit on the same mix I don’t understand why those leaves are dying back like that??? Hope the repoting will help!

Well I am very confused on this one it got repotted today the roots seems fine the odd dead one which you would expect for any plant.

So I decided to Splt the plant and see it that works one of the them I have sprayed with a bleach solution to see if theres a fungal problem or something.

We shall see how this works out.
