I think this should be about celebrating diversity. It would be a shame if all schlimmi's were this pale, but given that the pinker ones are fairly common, this one presents great hybridising prospects. I look forward to seeing what your Hanne Popow ends up looking like, with this crossed with a besseae flavum..!

as you said, the pinker are common, there is a reason to self this one first before making crosses to see if there is even lighter ones coming out among the next generation.

If the pod holds I'll need to see if I can track down someone for some flasking help. Anyone know of a good place for flasking?

Contact Woodstream Orchids. They are local. Also Arbec and Orchids Dominica have some local contacts.

Thanks Linus. I didn't realize Woodstream did flasking as well. I'll reach out to them, if the HP doesn't take I'll try a selfing and see if some lighter flowers come out of it.
