Or wasczewickzi or warsczwickzianum??? I liked it best as wallisii because I could spell it.

Anyway something weird for 2013 is a fourth bud popped out on a lower bract after the first 3 buds were well developed on younger bracts. Longest petals are 21".

Very nice. I see you are growing it in a basket. May I as what media you are using and your watering frequency.

It's sphagnum moss with lots (about 50% by volume) large driveway limestone gravel, and a dash of sand.

Live moss does pretty good on this basket too.

It gets some water splashed on it daily, but watered to sopping/dripping wet about every 3-4 days.

Most watering is done with 90% RO/10%well water. Feeding weak Klite/ kelp once a week max. Tracking TDS helped figure out the watering frequency and duration. It does best when conductivity is minimized to under 200 - 300 us/cm. So maybe every few months I try a pore through test. If it comes out higher than 300us/ I water the snot out of it until its flushed.

I think I will always think of this Phrag as wallisii. I guess it's what you learn first. Whatever the name, this is a gorgeous one, and is certainly happy the way your are growing it.

Nice blooms there Rick, especially the long petals. Looks like the basket culture is working well.
