Did you see mites or other pests or not, Troy?

No pests, I checked with a magnifying glass, it could be pesticide burn

I never, ever spray plants. Orthene and Cleary's are
systemic and I drench the potting medium until it runs
through the bottom hole. I might add that Orthene is a
bit hard to find (some farm supply stores have it), but it
lasts a long time, keeps well, however, it stinks for a day
or two.
