Hi Roy, I'm pretty sure of where it came from, that is not to say I think it was sold deliberatly mislabeled, but I do think a mixup happened somewhere.

Dal's charm was still a lovely cross of beautiful colour and flowers when next to no other catts are in flower, only thing is they are quite tall for the flower size and they never got the number of flowers david was hoping for by using Mem Jerome Shultz.

Still a keeper though.

I think it was obtained by the seller with this name in it. I don't blame him. He is in situation unknowingly & in good faith, selling a mislabelled plant. Its worse for him. As I said, I'm keeping the orchid, I like it. Getting the name cleared up is a bonus for both of us.
If it flowered totally different & rubbish I'd be on the phone quick smart but it not too different & definitely not rubbish.

Rlc. Dal's Charm = C. Mem. Jerome Shultz x Rlc. Island Charm 'Bette'
Rlc. Dal's Cherry = Rlc. Island Charm 'Bette' x C. Cherry Chip
The common parent, Island Charm 'Bette' is very similar in all respects to this. The same hybridiser for both. I haven't seen many of either plants but as cattmad says, they are like chalk & cheese. There is always the possibility that this Dal's Cherry is a total copy of the Island Charm. Discussions continue.
Here is the fully open flower.
