I went to this wonderfully quaint japanese restaurant in mid-town manhattan yesterday and had a bottle of this particular Sake, "Born - Wing of Japan". I have been looking for it since I woke up this morning and could only find one place in california selling it. Unfortunately, the vendor from california does not ship out of California.

Where do folks here get the Sake from? Better yet do any of you know where i can get this particular Sake. The Japanese name for it is "Nihon no Tusbasa".

Thanks

Easiest way :
Speak with the sommelier of this restaurant, to order it for you, or to sell it, if there are more bottles around.

In Munich, Germany we get different kinds of sake in every ´asia- market´, in bio- markets and in ´normal´supermarkets too.

Best regards, Gina

As Gina said, I would start my investigation in the restaurant were you drank it. :)

Those bottles look somewhat familiar. Marco you're in Queens...check out Mickey's on Bell Blvd or Katsuno on Metropolitan Ave...they have great sake selections. Some of the markets in Flushing may have them...also Forest Hills, which has a large Japanese population. I love sake....but it must be cold.

Hien - Yes I saw that website. I'm looking for the one on the top right. I didn't want to go through a distributor because I don't want to buy in bulk. But I will try giving them a call.

I found a place in manhattan but I don't think I'm willing to shell out how much they're asking for. They're putting a 50% premium on top of what the vendor in california is looking for.

Eric - Thank you. I will place a call to the two places you suggested. Hopefully they have it.

Those places are restaurants, but I'm sure they can connect you with a source.
