nice plant by the way.. looks like a big healthy plant and despite shorter than avg petals at least there is four flowers and good color.

4 flowers, good color, 3 growths. It's a "correct" price, except for the growers who search only the main interest for this specie = the long size of petals.

Sam told me recently it's possible to increase the size of petals with low temperatures and high humidity when it's in spike.
Even if it's a dangerous cocktail, you can try that in the next bloom

Pete is correct...and their difficulty in growing has a lot to do with recovery...unlike many multiflorals (roth , parishii, etc), they take a much longer time to recover from a lapse in culture or stress ..so many people kill them if they have small seedlings...i am well stocked in sanderianum plants from a compot to various growth stages up to multigrowth plants but have yet to bloom one on my own...i have found the hybrids to be fascinating examples of genetic diversity..i suppose it's an obsession (fer sure) but waiting years for a each plant to acquire significant growth becomes frustrating...finding a blooming sanderianum, to me, is a find of a lifetime, especially one with good color.

In Australia, I have only ever seen tiny seedlings not long out of flask. For a plant like this you could name your own price. There would be some growers willing to pay anything.

hey there was some extra cash, I probably might have gotten it was well. (as long as I had the ability to keep it alive.

Nice blooms with dark colours.

P. Michael Koopowitz will keep me happy for now :)

Being a grower of mainly multifloral paphs and phrags, definitely one of my favourites along with the roth. I have acquired a couple of plants recently which are approaching blooming size, so hopefully will be able to get them to spike soon!!. Just great flowers.

Nice find, beautiful flower. The petal length is dramatically influenced by humidity and water during bud development. The higher the humidity the better & it is equally important to keep the plant wet during bud development. A plant that gave you 18 inch petals in low humidity could easily give you 28 inch petals in high humidity.

great price too.

thats really good to know...it shipped from hawaii in bud, so it probably affected the petals
