You should be. That magdalenae is a beauty. Also glad to meet another Angracoid lover. I see there are a few more in the back.

Yes I'm an Angrecoid lover. The ones in the backround and the others I have are:-

Eburneum ( large but not flowered as yet )
2 Crestwoods both flowered for the first time last year and growing like mad.
2 Sesquipedale ( also not flowered }
Boiserii " " "
Huntleyoides
Elephantum
Rutenbergianum
sure I've a few more but at the moment can't remember.

Thanks for feedback

Ed

Very nice... :D Hope you don't mind sharing your growing conditions for the magdalenae... I have Googled for info and came across some conflicting advice. Some say its easy (grow with phals but a bit brighter), others say it is very difficult and slow...

i think your third one on the right is Ang. infundibulare vs. eichlerianum.

Pete.

Many years since this was repotted. I don't like to disturb any plant if it is looking good.Just a bark medium with added charcoal plus the usual bits of perlite. The temp in winter doesn't drop below 14c and gets as warm as the weather will allow. Summer 14c getting as high as 35c again depending on the weather( today it hasn't reached 24c. I let it dry out completely before watering and give a weak feed about every 3rd watering. Light as much as possible but with no sun. This is how I keep so hope that in some small way it may be of help to you.

That Magdalenae looks pretty big. I've had my problems with these guys. About a year and a half ago I bought 3 Magdalenae in 2 1/2 inch pots. I didn't repot them until this year. All of them had been doing fine. When I unpotted them I was surprised to see a complete block of white healthy roots. I couldn't even find much of the bark mix. I repotted them in 3 1/2 inch pots with packing peanuts on the bottom in order to give them a smaller growing space. To me it looks like the like to be cramped at the roots. I'll know more when I repot them next time, won't I?

Thank you, Ed.. :)

Bob, were your magdalenaes making lots of new leaf or little leaf growth and lot of roots? From what I have read, they seem to grow leaves very slowly but can establish a good root system very fast.

Oh my gosh, I love those! The magdalene is gorgeous! Does yours have a lot of basal growths?

I have about 9 angs altogether...think I'm just starting to get the hang of them for my conditions.

Paphioboy, I think that I had growth on both ends. Roots were the best roots I've ever grown on any orchid. The top had gotten larger and some basal keikies where also growing. Of the three plants one of them lost it's main growth but the basal keikies are fighting to take it's place. Take all this with a grain of salt as I've done poorly with them in the past. Just a few weeks back I bought three of the Diderii to work with. These all came in 2 inch pots are are suppose to be blooming size.
