I like the 2nd one the most Fdk. After Dark is always stunning. I've never seen it in person though.

Nice. Your Fred's bulbs look huge!!!

they are huge. 3 spikes on each plant also. I forgot to mention the smell, which is incredible. The Jumbo York smells like anise and the Fdk. smells like a pine forest after rain. I can see why they reproduced the scent for a perfume and Fred made off like a bandit. Good for him!!

Gorgeous flowers on both. I need to learn how to grow these better.

mr. clarke had the most basic instructions for growing these; no matter what, whether or not it is flowering or not; if it has lost it's leaves, stop watering. you should stop watering definitely by beginning of january even if it has leaves or a flower spike. put it on a warm shelf with no water, doesn't need light, and when roots just start to poke out, put it into a new pot/media, use a stake to hold it up. when the roots are four inches long or just starting to poke out the bottom of a four inch pot, start watering and fertilizing, and you can give them a ton of light and fertilizer until the leaves fall off in the fall.

i've heard some say that they followed instructions and didn't water in winter and their plants shriveled up and died; it may be that if you don't water but still have some decent humidity it might help them to not dry out completely, but he said that you shouldn't have a problem if you just water and feed the heck out of it once you get some long roots
