I hope ChrisFL or Goods know what this Bulbo is.

It's tiny. The flower is a bit over 1cm across. The blooms are almost as big as the leaves.

Hmm are you sure this is one I sent you?

Pretty sure it was you or Chris.

I recall getting it as an unknown sp. - bonus plant.

But in the email (which I've since deleted) it said either you got it from Chris or Chris got it from you:eek:

I also have a vague recollection that whoever sent it had a notion that it should be similar to a certain known species (which I looked up and promptly forgot)

This was a few years ago, and at the time I didn't think it would take this long to bloom out!!

Beautiful little plant, great job keeping it so happy! Looks similar to cernuum and ovalifolium.

Some differences, but it may be the right section.
This thing has a smooth and longer lip than ovalifolium, but the growth habit is similar.

The flower of cernuum is more similar, but the growth habit looks different.

If the source can be verified that could help.

Rick, the only unID'ed Bulbo. I've had was this "sp. Rusty" that I described in Chris's new greenhouse thread. Here's a picture of it:

This particular plant didn't come from Chris, but he did have it from the same source. The only plants I think I've ever received from Chris were Bulbo. cernuum and Bulbo. longicaudatum.

Chris had (I think) a reddish unID'ed species that superficially reminds me of this one. I've only seen a single picture of it, though. I believe it was labelled "sp. Dos"

Chris, any ideas?

Oh god. Rick. You just made my day. Week even. Thank GOD someone still has a piece of that plant.

Rick, that's an unknown species of Bulbo that someone who is no longer in the hobby acquired through unknown channels sometime ago. I managed to get ahold of it and, and lost it with all my other rare goodies when I moved. I was unaware of any other plants of it even existed. I'm the only person it could have come from.

Take good care of that plant. Or else.

I have the email. I sent a piece of this to you as a bonus because it took me so damn long to get your longisepalum division in the mail. October 2012.

Ha Ha

My 56 year old memory is coming back to me now. I remembered the bonus plant part, but couldn't remember if it was with the longisepalum (which is doing awesome BTW) from you or a swap of something I did with Goods.

Sometimes these orchid transactions are like Cheech and Chong movies to me:sob: So many insane little skits that I can't recall which movie they came out of.

I should have got out the monoculars and tried breeding it, but the flowers only stayed good for about 3 days. I'll catch it next time. It's attempted blooming 2 previous times, but the buds blasted in early spike development.
