I thought this was nice and had to buy it instantly...
13cm nat. spread on a very compact plant of maybe 20cm leaf span. I've seen a couple of flowers from this particular cross and all had these extremely unequal petals. The cross is hangianum x godefroyae.

This is a great cross. I have seen some pics of awesome clones in Japan.
 
I have noticed that almost all parvi x brachy hybrids have uneven petals. When the bud is forming, one of the two petals is 'hugging' the other (this will be the larger petal), giving it a larger size as it overlaps the smaller petal.

I wonder if other paphs have a similar blooming habit...

Hmmm I hadn't even noticed that the one petal is smaller than the other. I was so drawn to that nice round pouch. Still, it's a very nice flower.

I don't think that's always true, but I guess that could get exagerated with a monstrous hangianum hybrid too.
