    Paphiopedilum villosum

Stephen, that was also in my thoughts, although the spelling here is Ambon? And I think, we are still a wee bit away from the described habitat of P. villosum to really feel at ease with the geography: Ambon - Wikipedia, den frie encyklopædi versus Paphiopedilum villosum

    My Polyanthas in 2023

I'll stick to my position, Rudolf, no matter what logic arguments, I'm presented with...just for once to taste how it feels not to be in the echo chamber with you! 😉🫠

Some of my Paphs of the section Sigmatopetalum in 2023

No reason to be in doubt, Rudolf: you can't! Anthocyanin is anthocyanin - and your plant ain't fma. measuresianum. Stick with fma. albescens - and enjoy the beautiful flowers for what they are! 🙂

    Paphiopedilum Yang-ji Hawk

Stephen, good at least the growers keep JB and WBW apart... Interestingly, in Europe they are judged as two different hybrids, and judges here seem to be bound by the registrar of the International Register of Orchid Hybrids.... I wonder, though, what rules allow for not following the IROH...

    Paphiopedilum Yang-ji Hawk

I'm so sorry, if I offended anyone's sensibilities. For that I apologise and rephrase my lexast post as follows: "There are splitters and there are lumpers, and then there are the ....... of AOC!" I'm sure, that there are many splendid judges in the AOC (of which the many well deserved awards...

    Paphiopedilum Yang-ji Hawk

By the black colouring of the (mainly lower part of the dorsal) that anitum seems to breed through with in hybridization... Wössner Black Wings vs Johanna Burkhardt is another example. You would have to be blind not to see this in Darlene's wonderful flowers - or be one of the morrons of the...

    Paphiopedilum villosum

First time flowering of this plant, that I bought as P. villosum var. amboinense. I've never seen that variety described? And with Amboin being a city on Papua New Guinea (the only Amboin, at least, that I have succeeded in tracking down), I wonder, whether it isn't a bit out of sorts?NS: 8...
