It's been a cool spring and summer here in the north east. To my surprise I had a complex paph. come into bud and bloom. Below is a photo of a plant that was gifted to me by one of our members Aquacorps around Easter of this year. I thought he told me that he thought it was a green. I hope he doesn't want it back :)

This cross is Ice Age. I have a few complexes in spike now as well. That was very nice of Russ. He is a very generous guy.

Well, its quite pale for a green. Not sure if I'd keep it:wink:

That'a very nice summer surprise, indeed.

So is this an issue of temperature difference? Certainly many flowers can change color depending on average temperature.

I'm sure that he is just GREEN with envy seeing this shot!

This is not a green and Russ knows that I am sure. You can tell just from the parentage. Most whites have a yellow or green hue in the beginning and then whiten as time passes. Russ must have taken the pic sooner to when the flower opened. This difference doesn't have to do with temperature just where in the flower life it was taken. That being said this cross tended to have slightly more icy green hue than the Icy Icy wind cross from the orchid zone which was made with stone lovely. However on average the Ice Ages had better shape.

Ken, Is correct about the color. It did lighten up as you can see in this photo.
