Here's another example of this cross. The first flower opened in the grow room (high 26, low 18 in temp under MH light 14 hours a day), with a missing staminode, angular shape and more pinkish in color.

Then I move the plant outside in the balcony where it's much cooler (high around 20, low around 12-14, shorter day duration and lots of cloudy days). The second flower has a staminode, nice round petals and pouch and deeper colored pouch :)

Wonderful!!!! I must start growing phrags. they are more expensive that most paphs I can find though....:eek:
 
Very nice! All my phrags grow with a minimum night temp of around 10 to 15C most of the year.
 
Interesting. I knew about the color issue with temperature, but I didn't know it would affect whether it had a staminode or not.
 
nice flower. btw, the real michel tremblay was judging at our orchid show yesterday. ... and, his wife has regained her health and was a clerk! both are very nice people
