Hi
This is a seedling grown cross of Paph exul x fairrieanum. First bloom took 6 years. Sharing some pictures of the cross

Well, to be honest, I like it. Would I ever award it? Perhaps. It is difficult sometimes to properly evaluate new hybrids.
Is it as good as a fairrieanum?
Is it better than exul?
Remains to be seen.
I find the color and shape to be a decent blend of the parents. It does have a certain charm for me.

That's an interesting, and not entirely unexpected outcome. I like the fairrieanum influence in the petals. Plus, I'm a sucker for earthy tones and undulating petals.
Hi
Thank you for the comments, yes, the influence of fairrieanum though apperas, exul dominates. Wish it had more of fairrieanum. There is another cross with me callosum x fairrieanum and even there the callsum dominates.

Thank you for the comments. Generally the F1 should be better than parents abut often when one parent dominates that makes the hybrid totally different. Yes, will see subsequent blooms. Thanks again
