Hi slipper talkers,

sorry this time today no Paph's but I need your help.
I attach a picture of an unknown Cattleya hybrid
I was driving in my village when i came across this large flowered specimen
just hanging in front of somebody's house, interesting detail look at the bottom of the plant
it's being grown in a fan propeller protecting grid , how original
here in this country they recycle everything.
my question is What Cattleya hybrid is this, it looks really old like a C. Hardyana
Dupreana or Fabia i hope somebody can give me name
thanx for your help and looking
cliokchi;)

how can you guys be so sure when you can't see a close up?

My own answer is that the plant has all the characteristics of a species look. The leaves, pseudobulbs and flowers all look like a warscewiczii. In the last 40 years or so, I've seen thousands of cattleya flowers and the experience I have, as well as my gut feelings, plus a thorough look at OrchidWiz clinched it for me. I could still be wrong though. It could be a primary hybrid. But I doubt it! :p

My first thought was Hardyana. The rhyzomes don't seem tall enough for straight warscewiczii, but then again, I'm not an expert.
