After years of growing this fescue grass like foliage phrag..I finally have one spike in bloom...the narrow foliage is approx. 17 inches leaf span. The bloom is small from dorsal to lip its a little over 2inches. width from petal tip to petal tip is 3 inches. As you can see from the picture it is like a bush , with many growths !! What is it ?? Too small for longifolium ?? Thanks !

It is definitely not longifolium. The pouch does not show the typical longifolium side lobes that are always evident in the first generation progeny. It does look like a hybrid of something like pearcei x lindleyanum= Patti McHale. That's at least a ballpark of where it is.
The sedge like leaves show a parent of something like caricinum, pearcei, etc.. and the confirmation of the pouch and petals show an evidence of something in the lindleyanum group of species.

I agree with slippertalker: Phrag. pearcei x lindleyanum= Patti McHale

The line of dots (color) on the outside edge of the pouch opening is very pearcei like. I'm not sure about caricinum, does anyone know if it has the same patterning?

I'm agree too, lindleyanum for sure X pearcei or richterii, not caricinum... I like the olive green color on that one...
