'Got this as a gift from a friend a few years ago. One of the nicest gift plants I've ever received. If I had to cut back to just a half dozen plants, this would be one of the keepers. The plant is so small and compact and the flower just knocks me out, it's so stunningly beautiful!

Thanks everybody!

I may want one. Do you know the source? Is it easy to grow? How often does it bloom?

I got it at an orchid meeting a few years ago. I think it originated from a South American vendor. It is easy to grow and bloom. Blooms once a year. No fragrance. Flowers last about 2 months; but you gotta keep the Hover Flies away from it. They crawl in under the column and as they back out, they dislodge the pollen, which causes the flower to fade. There were 5 flowers; but, two got ruined by the flies. One flower was removed before I took the photo and I removed the other the day after I took the photo. The pollen had been dislodged only an hour or two before I took the photo; but, the flower stem was already discoloured and the flower closed up just a few hours later. Damned flies!
