This is the first of these that I have bloomed. The petals aren't flat, but they are only slightly cupped and not twisted out of plane. The pouch is a little blotchy, but it has good color. The flower has a spread of about 8cm. Sorry for the quality of the photo. I took several photos and this was the closest to the actual color, but it is a little out of focus. I want to see this one bloom again.

I have found this plant to be very vigorous. I have taken divisions off mine and still it grows quickly. Plenty of good clean water and very little fert.

Thanks for sharing. Eumelia Arias is my favorite kovachii hybrid, by far.

My Eumelia Arias is my most vigorous kovachii hybrid. It's also the most compact growing, and flowers the most frequently. The flowers have great color -- a lot of kovachii hybrids come out pale. The flowers are proportionally quite large, though I imagine it's one of the smaller primary hybrids, simply because schlimii is one of the smallest flowered phrags.

My favorite thing about Eumelia Arias is that the schlimii fragrance carries through quite well. It's one of my favorite orchid fragrances.

Your plant's flower is quite nice I think. My plant's flowers aren't all that great. The petals start out looking really nice, but then they start to fold back and reflex very badly (which is another problem I've noticed with kovachii hybrids).
