This is the first paph I have taken from spike to bloom. I thought at first the spike was new growth rottingšŸ˜…. Can't take credit for the plant or bloom since the spike appeared four days after I brought the plant home. As an avowed I-am-all-about-the leaves person, I have to confess, it is pretty exciting to watch this ball of color grow. However, the leaves seem to be interfering with the bloom opening all the way. Is there anything I can do to about that?

It's Delrosi. I moved the pouch from out of the leaf but you can see it is still interfering with the lateral sepal. I think that is the name of the petal opposite the dorsal. Regardless, I am still enjoying watching the hourly progress. šŸ˜‚
I have that issue occasionally and either put a stake to hold leaf over or actually use a clip to hold the leaves to keep it out of the way.

Ahhh, thank you. Yes the pouch looks a little deformed and I think it is because the leaves prevented it from dropping down. Will use a click next time. I was kind of afraid to touch it this time. šŸ˜¬
