I hope everyone is O.K. with all this new rain on top of what we got from Irene. So far we are ok here but there is alot of flooding around us, the creeks are very high again..

I have a little, barely-trickling stream separating my yard (Bucks County PA - about 30 miles N of Philly) from the neighbor, and it has been the Colorado River for a while now.

We have lots of road washouts, mudslides, and flooding in the area, which has no significant impact on me, but my wife does home healthcare for the local hospital, and it has been causing her all sorts of issues.

Ive heard of some people in my area getting alot cleaned up in their house from Irene only to have it get flooded again.. Heidi (my girlfriend) works as a home health aide also. She lost her car in flooding from Irene.

the road that goes from the middle of our town across the erie barge canal and the mohawk river had flooded quickly and for a time there wasn't any way to get across for a wide area except for the state highway bridge above utica. along the nearby road are tall weeds and a field of corn. both had high mud lines when I drove through a few days ago, and I noticed at the lowest spot that often floods a few times a year, the mud line was even with or just below the roof of my car! previously, I had only seen water get about a foot over the top of that road, and for there to be that much water covering the whole flood-plain, that is a huge amount of water! thankfully our town has a railroad berm between the waterways and us, and hills close by on the other side. as fast as the water can rise, if it stops raining it can soon drop back down. further east and south, especially nearby binghamton, ny had extreme flooding and damage, still being assessed especially concerning bridges and highway structures

well, luckily for me it was just a small one. for others it really was a wild, whitewater rapids rafting type of thing, not ending happily. I was able to hear about other's weather exploits from a distance; wasn't as bad here

Some pics

Here are a few pics of the bridges by my house.

This one is before my house. It was under water & the house right by it he lost everything. The water was so strong it ripped up the blacktop. That is me on the left, along with other neighbors.

This is the bridge up the road, The water was over the railing of the bridge. You can see the branches stuck in the railings.
