my Paph Shin Yi Omar (St Swithin x William Ambler) is doing well and popping two new growths as seen in this picture

There is a tiny growth at the bottom left and then there is a new growth coming out between the leaves of the front growth. My question is, whether these two different ways of pushing the new growths is mostly genetic or if there might be something cultural about it? I guess I should just be happy that it is doing well, I just generally prefer when new growths don't split the old growths and in my limited experience I haven't ever seen two emerge at approximately the same time but with these different habits

How often and how much do you fertilize? Mine do that all the time, I've been told that is from heavy fertilizing although it is perfectly ok I can show you pics of mine if yur really worried

I think you just have to accept that new growth is good, no matter where it starts. The genetic and anatomical potential have to be there first, then it is likely that a lot of environmental factors have some influence. But would you really want to change something if it meant you only got 1 growth instead of 2?

The left one starts at the base of an old growth which is pretty normal. Much better is the situation you have on the right side. The new growth comes out of a young and half mature growth. When your plant does that it can grow into a clump very quickly and it means that your culture is perfect for this plant! I do have the same thing on one of my sandies and it is a pleasure to see how fast it becomes multigrowth.
