Been waiting 3 years for the first blooming and…..
It’s flower pouch is backwards:

Still waiting for petals to elongate and second flower to open
 
Gee, I don’t see that. I look and perhaps the pouch is hung up on the staminode?
 
The flower is upside-down... the sepal on top in your photo is the ventral sepal. It's smaller than the sepal on the bottom of your photo which is the dorsal sepal. The flower is upside-down.

I rushed at this post and you are completely correct.
The first flower was upside down so I worked it daily to turn forward and correct side up. It is a normal flower now:
