I purchased this plant in bud at the Orchid Society of Alberta show in February. Am utterly in love with the flower!

Hi Rick, I put it in the basket. I've been following the posts here on basket culture with interest and am trying it with a couple of plants. I really like the look of the plant in a basket, it's somehow more natural looking. Although I do find the clear plastic pots easier to monitor root condition!

Is your micranthum in straight sphagnum?

It's in a mix of fine fir bark, chopped sphagnum, perlite, fine charcoal and a top dressing of oyster shell and sphagnum.
