Hookerae or mastersianum to accentuate that green dorsal and pink up the petals.
Hy Leslie
I’d try hookerae but mine haven’t flowered yet... no pollen. I don’t have any mastersianum and they’re bigger than I have room for. My plant does have mastersianum traits so the the cross with hookerae might produce some similar results. The cross between mastersianum and hookerae was a successful one producing several awarded offspring.

I’m thinking more of the Maudiae type cross or cross to something to shrink the offspring way down. Anyone feel free to chime in.

I have pollen from some good Maudiae type:
This Delightfully Macabre is very large. Petals reflexes a little just before the bloom fell off.

Something like this Hawaiian Peacock might be good. Similar color, probably a smaller flower but broader segments.

Took it to judging at the Deep Cut Show and it got screened... they said it looked better going than it did coming. What ever that means. It matches or betters the other awarded ones in just about every aspect so I’ll try again next time it blooms.

I think I can see why it was screened. The dorsal recurves on the side a bit, staminode looks down. These colors are harder to get through. Bring in a vini and they are more forgiving, it seems. This one still has potential.
BTW, I didn’t have anything in bloom like the photo I posted earlier.

Is insanity a requirement to be an orchid judge?
