This is a primary hybrid between Paph. philippinense X liemianum.
I bought this in bud a couple of years ago, and then it bloomed again for me about one year later. The flower count is the same, but the plant is getting bigger.

I like how all the flowers remain open together. I have had some similar hybrids that followed the trait of sequential parents.

There is a new fan starting between the two current growths. :)
The plant takes up quite a bit of space, but I like this one.

friken great!!!! nice color, post another pic in a week, let them open fully, very nice!!

Yeah, that is pretty impressive that all the flowers open at once like that. I love this hybrid, phil and liemianum are two of my favs, and they make handsome babies, that's for sure.

Very nice! My Jolly Holidays tend to have less twisting in the petals and the flowers are not as dark as yours. I love this hybrid, given the space it takes, it is still much smaller than Shireen (glauco x phili) and is very free flowering. Your plant shows a good balance of both parents, especially the white halo from liemianum is retained.

Thanks!

I have leimianum. I bought it last year with its first flower open and it is still bloom on its twelfth flower. :)
I would love to have a nice (but small growing if such thing exists hahaha) philippinense as I love everything about those flowers, color and the shape!!! but they seem to get quite big. maybe someday.

For now, I am happy with this baby.

True.
Primary hybrids with glauco seems to make big plants.

Well, you might laugh if you are a multi lover.
It is a little over two foot from one end to the other, and that is huge for me considering my collections are mostly maudiae type hybrids and parvis.
Well, I do have bulldogs and some are rather big, but this one is the biggest thing I have.

Thanks.
I think it is a great outcome from mixing the two species. :)
I only wish the plant was smaller. Oh, well...

Very nice! Great balance of the parents. If it's too big for your space, I bet someone here would be happy to take it off your hands...

And maybe I'm misremembering, but don't certain populations/varieties of philippinense stay much more diminutive than others?
