Wow very nice nearly looks identical to vietnamese
I don't see the point of such breeding.
In the case of Paphiopedilum Vo Nguyen Giap, I could see someone wanting to produce a hybrid whose flowers look like a really high quality P. vietnamense, with longer lasting flowers, and a touch of hybrid vigor.
Paph. Ho Chi Mihn comes close, but most clones are a bit lacking in those distinct and charming characteristics of vietnamense.
.....I don't see the point of such breeding. Without strict labeling, it may only add confusion and possibly lead to mistake whether intended or not.
In my eyes strictly line breeding would be the better choice to avoid confusion and mislabeling. In the case of Paphiopedilum Vo Nguyen Giap, I could see someone wanting to produce a hybrid whose flowers look like a really high quality P. vietnamense, with longer lasting flowers, and a touch of hybrid vigor......
