I purchased this a few years ago because the flower seemed redder than most, and then I almost lost the plant. It's slowly coming back -- maybe I'm learning how to grow besseaes. …maybe…

nice! I grow them okay for a while, then something diverts my attention and they dry out too much; happens a few times and they are toast. hate to see it happen...

Nice red! I wish mine would flower. I have one that just started a new growth, without blooming on the first. And the other has a struggling new growth. Patience truly is a virtue...

Nice!

That spike looks very short - do besseaes do that often?

Where did you get this one, and do you know the parents?

Nice Dot. Is this an OZ plant? Is that a red cast to the underside of an old leaf? Is this common? I have not seen pigment on besseae before.

I think the spike is short because the plant is still recovering. I don't recall the spike being this short before.

The parents are '‘Haven’ x ‘Smokin’ so I think it is an OZ plant.

I don't remember a red cast to the leaves before -- it is on the older leaves, so I suspect it has something to do with the stress.
