According to the lady who sent me the photo, it's in the ground, and has been for many years, so I assume it's a giant mound.

What are the chances, the bottom right is Masdevallia?
mine were suicidal.

I think its a Leeanum. There are a couple of pictures on flickr showing similar massive specimens grown in the ground too.

I thought it was a gazania.
